Founded in 1991 and headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, APS is one of the region's largest independently owned and operated full-service payroll management firms. APS has been servicing clients in our Region for over 23 years. Our staff is comprised of people who have made their careers in Payroll and Human Capital Management solutions. APS continues to revolutionize the HCM industry by being among the first to offer small to mid-sized organizations an alternative to installed payroll software. Gary Huntoon
President & Chief Executive Officer

Gary is President and CEO of APS. Having purchased APS in 1993 in its infancy, his leadership has guided APS to become one of the largest independent service bureaus in the Kentucky/Indiana Region. Mr. Huntoon has more than 20 years’ experience in leading and managing all aspects of APS and empowers his senior management team to develop creative solutions to complex business challenges. His technological vision and commitment to excellence in all aspects of business have allowed APS to be recognized as a service and value leader in the markets it serves.


Kelly Faulkner
Chief Compliance Officer

Kelly is a Certified Payroll Professional that brings over 25 years of management experience related to acquisitions, payroll processing and tax filing at a major healthcare organization with over 70,000 employees in North America. With more than 14 years at APS, Ms. Faulkner possesses a wealth of knowledge and the necessary procedural discipline to ensure that all aspects of implementation, production, and tax filing are done using best practices, with the necessary verification and reconciliation in place to validate compliance in all material aspects.


Teresa Brown
Vice President of Client Services

Teresa is a Certified Payroll Professional with nearly 20 years of payroll-related experience, the last 15 in management of service teams.  With her BA in Accounting, Teresa began her career in A/R and Payroll processing for the local office of a global company, quickly rising to Supervisor and Payroll Center Manager as their office grew.  In that role, Teresa was responsible for a team of 35, processing payroll and billing for over 35,000 employees weekly.  At APS, Teresa leads the Client Service and Implementation teams for Catalyst and Millennium, driving efficiencies and high levels of client advocacy.  Teresa and her team of professionals provide workforce management solutions to our clients that simplify processing for each step of the employee life cycle while delivering best in class service.

Eric Monks
Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Eric is a native of Kentucky that comes to APS with over 11 years of SAAS (Service as a software) experience, serving small to medium sized businesses. His most recent experience was spent in healthcare IT, managing a direct sales force responsible for new client growth, as well as supporting the organizations key Enterprise accounts. Eric’s team was responsible for working with physician groups that employed up to 700 physicians along with smaller regional Hospitals. Eric and his team of workforce management experts are responsible for continuing APS’ regional growth and assuring that all of our current clients have access to the latest technology to help them manage their workforce and control their labor costs. 

Crystal Gary
Catalyst Manager

Crystal adds 20+ years of multi-State payroll processing experience to APS’s vast knowledge pool.  Crystal has held varying payroll Leadership positions in her career, most recently leading a team of over 50 people tasked with handling the payroll for 50,000+ employees.  Along with holding a CPP certification, Crystal has the knowledge and background on what it takes to process payroll and making sure the needs of the employees and the company are met.  This insight allows Crystal to be a great asset to our clients as she has seen first-hand what it takes to get people paid.
